Celebrating World Hypertension Day: Promoting Heart Health with Newheights Pharma and OMRON Blood Monitors

In celebration of World Hypertension Day, Newheights Pharma, the proud distributor of OMRON Blood Monitors in Nigeria, organized an enlightening health session for our dedicated traffic officers at the LASTMA HQ in Lagos.

The session kicked off with an informative presentation on hypertension and the critical importance of knowing your blood pressure numbers. The presentation highlighted that hypertension, often dubbed the "silent killer," can be effectively managed and even prevented with regular monitoring and lifestyle adjustments. Our knowledgeable team answered a slew of questions from the officers, ensuring everyone left with a clearer understanding of the condition.

Following the presentation, we conducted blood pressure checks for all officers present. But we didn't stop there. Comprehensive health assessments were also performed, including measurements of BMI, weight, body fat percentage, skeletal muscle percentage, and abdominal fat. These metrics are vital indicators of overall health and can provide early warnings for conditions related to hypertension.

The following day, we extended our outreach online with an engaging session themed "Understanding Hypertension - The Silent Killer." This session was hosted by the popular doctor and storyteller, Egemba Chininso, also known as Aproko Doctor, alongside guest speaker Dr. Ramon Moronkola, a Consultant Physician and Cardiologist from Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

The online session was a resounding success. Participants gained valuable insights into the importance of accurate blood pressure measurement, strategies to control hypertension, and tips for leading a longer, healthier life. The interactive format allowed followers to ask pressing questions, and some lucky participants even won OMRON Blood Pressure monitors.
